Onboard Your eBay Listings
You already have a store. Bringing it into PowerList TCG does not mean ending listings and starting over. Your listings stay live, keep their age and watchers, and get connected to the card catalog one confirmation at a time.
Where Onboarding Sits in the Workflow
The way in that skips scanning. Listings you already have become inventory.
The Problem with Starting Over
An old listing is worth more than a new one, and nobody wants to pay to find that out.
A listing that has been up for two years is not the same as an identical listing posted this morning. It has watchers. It has sat in search results long enough for eBay to know something about it. End it and relist it and you throw all of that away, along with any chance that the person watching it comes back.
So the honest answer to "how do I move my store into new software" cannot be "end two thousand listings and post them again." Onboarding is built the other way around: your listings never move. PowerList TCG learns what they are.
- Item age reset to zero
- Watchers gone
- Search standing rebuilt from scratch
- Every listing starts from zero again
- Same item number, same listing
- Watchers stay watching
- Search standing untouched
- Cards keep selling while you work
How Onboarding Runs
Four steps. Do them in one go, or come back whenever you have time.
Your Listings Come In
Connect your eBay account and your active listings are read in with their title, price, photo, and quantity.
Cards Get Identified
Listings are read against the catalog in batches you control, and each one is scored on how sure the match is.
You Confirm
Accept the confident ones in bulk. Work through the rest one at a time with the alternatives in front of you.
Your Store Is Live in PowerList TCG
Confirmed listings become inventory with prices, counts, and sales history attached, and your listings never moved.
Three Piles, Not One Queue
Two thousand listings in a single list is a wall. Sorted by how much thought each needs, it is an evening.
| Pile | What Is in It | What You Do |
|---|---|---|
| Ready to accept | Listings matched to one card with high confidence. | Scan the list, accept them together. |
| Needs a look | Listings where more than one printing is plausible. | Pick from the ranked alternatives, or search the catalog yourself. |
| Other games | Listings for games with no catalog yet. | Nothing for now. They are set aside and taken out of your progress count. |
The split matters more than it sounds. A store with three hundred listings for a game PowerList TCG has no catalog for would otherwise show a progress bar that can never reach the end, and a queue full of listings you can do nothing about. Those come out of the count entirely.
What Confirming One Listing Does
More happens on that click than "this listing is that card."
Things Worth Knowing
Behaviors that show up once you are a few hundred listings in.
Duplicates Fold Together
Sellers end up with the same card listed twice, and scanning a card you already had listed makes a third. Confirming folds them into one: the oldest listing survives with its age and watchers, the newer one ends, and the survivor's quantity is revised to the combined total.
Flag a Missing Card
A listing for a printing the catalog does not have yet gets flagged for review instead of forced onto the nearest lookalike. A flagged listing is held out of your queue so a bulk accept cannot sweep it up and quietly erase the flag.
Search When the Suggestions Are Wrong
Every listing has a search box behind it. Results are scored against that listing instead of arriving in whatever order the catalog returns them. Searching a common name gives you the printing that matches the listing, not an arbitrary handful.
Sales During Onboarding Are Not Lost
A card can sell while its listing is still unmatched. The sale waits, and confirming the listing attaches it. Your history is complete instead of starting from whenever you happened to get to that card.
Sync Again for Anything New
List something on eBay directly and a later sync brings it in. It only pulls listings it has not seen, which makes running it again quick and safe instead of a second full pass.
Price Differences Are Shown, Not Applied
If a price on eBay drifts from the price in PowerList TCG, the difference is flagged for you. Your price is never quietly overwritten with the channel's, in either direction.
Known Limits
What onboarding does not do.
- Games without a catalog cannot be matched. Those listings are set aside instead of matched to something approximate. They stay visible and out of your way, and are excluded from your progress count.
- Confirming is a decision, not a bulk button for everything. High-confidence matches can be accepted together, but a listing where two printings are genuinely plausible needs a person. That is the trade for not silently mislabelling stock.
- Only active listings come in. Onboarding reads your live listings. Sold and ended history stays on eBay.
- Imported stock is counted, not labelled copy by copy. Your opening quantity is frozen as one number instead of becoming individually tracked copies. Those sell first and the pull sheet shows your eBay label for them until they run out.
Onboarding: Common Questions
Do my listings get ended and relisted?
No, and that is the whole point. Your listings stay exactly where they are, with the same item number, the same age, the same watchers, and the same standing in search. Onboarding tells PowerList TCG which card each listing is. It does not touch the listing.
How long does this take if I have a few thousand listings?
Reading your listings in takes minutes. The matching is the part that takes real time, and how long depends on how many you accept in bulk against how many you look at individually. It is built to be done in sittings. Stop after two hundred and pick it up tomorrow.
What if I sell a game PowerList TCG does not have a catalog for?
Those listings are separated into their own group instead of sitting in your queue looking like work. They are also removed from the progress count. A store that is half Dragon Ball does not show a number that can never reach the end.
What happens if a card sells while I am still onboarding?
The sale is held against that listing, and the moment you confirm which card the listing is, the sale is attached to it. You do not lose sales that happened before you got to that listing.
Can I list new scanned cards before onboarding is finished?
Yes. If a card you scan is already live under an old listing, confirming the old one afterwards merges them: the older listing survives, keeping its age and watchers, the newer one ends, and the survivor's quantity is revised to the combined total.
What if a listing is for a card that is not in the catalog?
Flag it. It goes to a queue for review and the card gets added, instead of you having to force it onto something close. A flagged listing is held out of your confirm queue until it is resolved, which keeps it out of a bulk accept and quietly lose the flag.
Does my quantity get overwritten by what eBay says?
No. What eBay held when you connected is frozen as your opening count, and everything after that is tracked by PowerList TCG. Your counts are never overwritten by a channel's number, which is what keeps two channels from fighting over the same stock.
Can I bring in listings I add on eBay later?
Yes. Syncing again pulls only listings it has not seen before, which makes it safe to run whenever you have listed something outside PowerList TCG.
Does onboarding work with eBay UK, Canada or Australia?
Yes. Onboarding reads the active listings on the eBay site your account is registered on, including eBay UK, eBay Canada and eBay Australia.
